Bagels With Bacon Chive Cream Cheese
RECIPE FROM ONE PAN WONDERS

1 bagel
1 tablespoon shelf stable bacon
1 teaspoon dried chives
1 teaspoon sun-dried tomatoes, chopped
2-3 ounces cream cheese

BEFORE CAMP: Cream together the bacon, chives, tomatoes and cream cheese. Pack in to a lidded plastic container. Wrap the bagel in foil or plastic wrap.
AT CAMP: slice bagel in half. Spread with cream cheese mix and eat.

Instant Cereal

1 cup favorite dry cereal
¼ dry milk
1 tbsp powdered coffee creamer
Water

BEFORE CAMP: Combine all dry ingredients. Store in plastic bag.
AT CAMP: Add cold water. Stir well. Can be eaten out of plastic bag for quick clean up.

Peanut Butter Banana Wraps
RECIPE FROM FREEZER BAG COOKING

1 flour tortilla
1 tub peanut butter
1 small banana

Spread peanut butter on tortillas. Cut the banana into slices and lay on the peanut butter. Roll and eat. Makes 1 serving.

Sunrise Spuds

1 cup dehydrated potato flakes
2 tbsp dry milk
¼ cup powdered cheese
2 tbsp bacon bits
1 cup water

BEFORE CAMP: Combine all dry ingredients. Store in plastic bag.
AT CAMP: Boil water. Add water to ingredients until desired consistency is achieved.

Biscuits

2 cups biscuit mix
1/4 cup dry milk
1/2 cup water

BEFORE CAMP: Combine biscuit mix and dry milk in quart size plastic bag.
AT CAMP: Add water to mix in bag. Separate dough into biscuit sized balls. Cook on pan, turning when light brown. Makes approximately 12 biscuits.

Gorp (Trail Mix)

Gorp is a fun and easy snack for backpacking that packs a nutrient dense punch. To make gorp, simply mix together any combination of the following ingredients: Nuts (Peanuts, almonds, cashews, pecans, etc.)

Dried fruit (Raisins, cranberries, etc.)
Shredded coconut
Seeds (Sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, etc.)
Pretzels
Granola
Breakfast cereals (Cheerios, Chex, Rice Krispies, Bran)
Chocolate chips or M&Ms
Sesame sticks
Toasted corn

Power Bars

1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup oats
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup white flour
1/4 cup toasted wheat germ
2 tsp orange rind
2 eggs
1 cup chopped almonds
1/4 cup coconut
1/2 cup chocolate chips

Mix butter, 1/2 cup brown sugar, oats, flour, wheat germ, and orange rind. Pour into non-greased 8" x 8" pan. Beat eggs with 1/4 cup brown sugar, nuts, raisins, coconut, and chocolate chips. Pour over base. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes. Cool. Cut into bars. Wrap and store in refrigerator until ready to use. Makes eight 2" x 4" bars.

Chicken Tetrazzini

1 cup water
1 pkg mushroom soup mix
1 pkg Ramen noodles
1 can chicken (5 oz)

BEFORE CAMP: Mix dry ingredients at home. (Do not include Ramen noodle sauce mix.) Store in plastic bag.
AT CAMP: Boil water. Add noodle mixture. Stir in chicken. Cook until noodles are tender. Makes 1 servings.

Creamy Chicken and Rice

1 cup dry instant rice
1/2 pkg mushroom soup mix
1/2 pkg onion soup mix
1 tsp dry milk
1 can chicken (5 oz.)
1 1/2 cups water

BEFORE CAMP: Mix dry ingredients at home. Store in plastic bag.
AT CAMP: Boil water. Add rice mixture. Stir in chicken. Makes 1 serving.

Mexican Chicken and Rice

1 cup dry instant rice
1 pkg tomato soup mix
1/2 tsp taco seasoning
1 1/2 cups water
1 can chicken (5 oz.)

BEFORE CAMP: Mix dry ingredients at home. Store in plastic bag.
AT CAMP: Boil water. Add rice mixture. Stir in chicken. Makes 1 serving.

Ramen and Summer Sausage

1 pkg beef Ramen Noodles
2 cups water
Summer sausage

AT CAMP: Make Ramen Noodles according to package instructions. Once completed, cut up chucks of summer sausage and mix into Ramen Noodles.

NOTE: Summer sausage can be a heavy food item to carry. You might consider eating it all during the beginning of your trip.

Southwest Chicken Wraps

1 can chicken (5 oz.)
1 mayo condiment packet
1 salsa condiment packet
2 flour tortillas

Mix tuna, mayo and salsa together. Spread on tortillas and roll.

Sweet and Sour Chicken and Rice

1 cup dry instant rice
1 pkg Sweet and Sour Sauce Sauce
1 1/2 cups water
1 can chicken (5 oz.)

BEFORE CAMP: Mix dry ingredients at home. Store in plastic bag.
AT CAMP: Boil water. Add rice. Stir in chicken and sauce. Makes 1 serving.

Teriyaki Chicken

1 cup dry instant rice
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp ginger powder
1 pgk honey
2 pkg soy sauce
1 1/2 cups water
1 can chicken (5 oz.)

BEFORE CAMP: Mix dry ingredients at home. Store in plastic bag.
AT CAMP: Boil water. Add rice mixture. After rice is cooked, stir in chicken, honey and sauce. Makes 1 serving.

Tuna Wraps
RECIPE FROM FREEZER BAG COOKING

1 packet tuna (3 oz.)
1 mayo condiment packet
1 relish condiment packet
2 flour tortillas

Open tuna packet. Mix in mayo and relish. Spread on tortillas.
